Pioneer Day

It's time for our annual Pioneer Day event! We hope you can join us on April 29 from 10:00 - 4:00 for this free event where you can learn about and support heritage crafters and demonstrators of Western North Carolina. You can see people practicing spinning, weaving, dyeing, blacksmithing, farm chores, and more (you can even participate). Other local crafters, food vendors, and local non-profits will be there as well. And, be sure to stop by the amphitheater for live music.

If you want to participate, download the PDF application and return it to the museum (in-person or by mail) by April 19. If you have any questions, please speak to our director, RoAnn Bishop, by phone at 828-668-9259 or by email,
