Mountain Gateway Museum’s 36th Annual Pioneer Day Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 25, has been postponed.
We are hoping to reschedule this free, family-oriented event for Saturday, July 4. However, much will depend on the status of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 at that time.
In accordance with Governor Roy Cooper’s state of emergency declaration and efforts to help limit the spread of COVID-19, Mountain Gateway Museum (MGM) is currently closed to the public. All previously scheduled events and programs have been cancelled through May 2020.
As part of the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, the museum will follow the state’s guidance as to when it will be safe for us to reopen and host public gatherings.
MGM is in the process of contacting vendors, demonstrators and others who already have submitted booth application forms and rental payment for Pioneer Day 2020. They will be given the choice of a refund or the opportunity to participate in the rescheduled event.
If you haven’t been contacted by the museum’s staff by Wednesday, April 8, please call 828-668-9259 or contact RoAnn Bishop at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please monitor the museum’s website for updates about Pioneer Day and other upcoming events at MGM. We will post new information as soon as it is available.
Thank you for your support and understanding during these unprecedented times. Please, be safe and stay well.
